Acho que todo mundo já viu este filme, eu era o único que ainda não tinha visto. É simplesmente fantástico! Só isto basta! Veja! Nos anos que antecederam a chegada da televisão (logo depois do final da Segunda Guerra Mundial), em uma pequena cidade da Sicília o garoto Toto (Salvatore Cascio) ficou hipnotizado pelo cinema local e procurou travar amizade com Alfredo (Philippe Noiret), o projecionista que se irritava com certa facilidade, mas parelamente tinha um enorme coração. Todos estes acontecimentos chegam em forma de lembrança, quando agora Toto (Jacques Perrin) cresceu e se tornou um cineasta de sucesso, que recorda-se da sua infância quando recebe a notícia de que Alfredo tinha falecido.
